Laboratory supplies represents a complex scientific area involving goods, consumables and services (mainly maintenance) to comprehensively analyse and influence.

The HEPCW Laboratory Supplies group draws on expertise from individuals with relevant technical and/or commercial awareness and experience. The aims of the group are to identify and improve procurement efficiency with key areas of expenditure.

Most of the group’s activities are linked to the National Working Party for Laboratory Supplies, where we are represented by the Group Secretary and the Chair. We also have links with the National Universities Working Party for Electronic Components, where we have a technical and purchasing representative.

Commodity expenditure is identified by the Laboratory group and a procurement strategy is put in place to meet the needs of users within the consortium.
